PROCLAMATION

By CHARLES BROWN, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.

WHEREAS by the “Public Cemetery Ordinance, 1861,” it is enacted that burial of the dead in the Town of New Plymouth, (except as provided by the said Ordinance) shall cease one month after proclamation of the said Ordinance in the Government Gazette. And it is further enacted that any person infringing the said Ordinance by burying, or in any wise assisting at the burial of persons within the prohibited limits (except as aforesaid) shall for every such offence forfeit and pay a penalty of fifty pounds to be recovered in a summary way. Now therefore,

I, the Superintendent of the said Province, do hereby proclaim and declare that so much of the said “Public Cemetery Ordinance, 1861,” as relates to the prohibition of burials within the Town of New Plymouth shall come into operation one month after the date hereof.

Given under my hand at New Plymouth, this 22nd day of November, 1862.

New Plymouth, 26th November, 1862.

The following deeds of Grant having been duly executed and registered are now ready for delivery at this Office on payment of the fees of £20s. and 7s. 6d. on each Grant.
