PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of the Reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled β€œAn Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent to prorogue the Provincial Council from time to time, whenever he shall deem it expedient to do so.

Now I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby proclaim and declare that, in exercise of the authority vested in me in that behalf by the said recited Act, I this day prorogue the Provincial Council of the said Province of Taranaki.

Given under my hand at New Plymouth in the Province of Taranaki, this twenty-second day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.
