A PROCLAMATION

FOR BRINGING THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES ORDINANCE INTO OPERATION WITHIN THE PROVINCE OF TARANAKI.

By His Excellency Sir George Grey,
Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same,
&c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS it is expedient to bring into operation within the Province of Taranaki the "Ordinance for establishing Standard Weights and Measures and for the prevention of the use of such as are false and deficient," Session vii., No. 10.

Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and appoint that from the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two, the operation of the said Ordinance shall extend to the Province of Taranaki in the said Colony.

Given under my hand at the Government House at Auckland, and issued under the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, this fifteenth day of April, in the year of Our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.
