ROADS AND BRIDGES.

New Plymouth, 3rd May, 1862.
WHEREAS by the 6th clause of "The Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858," it is enacted that General Meetings of the Electors for the several districts constituted under the said Ordinance shall be convened in the month of May in every year, on such day and at such place as shall be appointed by the Superintendent by notice published in the Government Gazette. Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent, do hereby appoint for the general meeting of the electors for the Town district under the said Ordinance shall be held at the Court House, Town of New Plymouth, on Saturday, the 24th day of May instant, at 3 o'clock p.m.

THE following extract from a letter from Mr. Samuel Gregory Harris of Avenue Street, Wanganui, is published for general information:--
"I shall be happy to receive any description of cattle stolen from any of my fellow settlers; if you, sir, think proper to make you known my offer to the settlers at large you will greatly oblige. I think I can render my old friends at Taranaki a good service, as I have an opportunity of seeing all cattle that are brought into Wanganui."
