PROCLAMATION
By CHARLES BROWN, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.
WHEREAS by the "Ordinances Suspension Ordinance, 1860," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, from time to time by Proclamation in the Government Gazette, to suspend in districts to be named in such Proclamation the action (amongst the other Ordinances therein specified) of the Slaughter House Ordinance, or of any section or provision thereof:
And whereas by the "Executive Government Amendment Ordinance, 1856," it is provided that all things that may be done by the Superintendent and Executive Council may be done by the Superintendent acting on a resolution of the Provincial Council.
And whereas it is expedient to suspend the operation of the said Slaughter House Ordinance as regards the building hereinafter described until provision shall be made for the erection of a public Slaughter House:
Now therefore I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, in pursuance of a resolution of the Provincial Council, proclaim and declare that the provisions of the "Slaughter House Ordinance, 1857," shall not apply until further notice to the building and premises now used for the purpose of slaughtering cattle near the mouth of the Huatoki, in the Town of New Plymouth, and that such suspension of the Ordinance shall apply to the said premises from the date hereof.
