It is hereby notified that a Writ issued for the election of a Superintendent for the Province of Taranaki has been returned with an endorsement to the effect that

has been duly elected.

It is hereby notified that Writs issued for the Election of Members of the Provincial Council for the Province of Taranaki, have been returned with certificates to the effect that
For the Town of New Plymouth—
James Yems,
Francis Ullathorn Gledhill,
Edward Larwill Humphries,
George Yates Lethbridge,
have been duly elected.
For the District of Omata—
John Joseph Looney,
George Curtis,
Tom Newsham,
George Rutt Burton,
have been duly elected.

The following "Garrison Standing Orders," issued by the Officer commanding H.M. Troops in the Province of Taranaki, are published for general information.

GARRISON STANDING ORDERS.
The following Orders will be strictly attended to should it be necessary on any alarm to sound the "Assembly":—

The "Assembly" is to sound only by order of the officer commanding the garrison, of the field officer, or garrison officer of the day, or by order of the garrison adjutant.
N.B.—Should the alarm be occasioned by a fire in the Town the "Assembly" only will sound. The 57th regiment will get under arms, but the Militia and Volunteers living in the Town will not be required to turn out with arms.

Should the alarm be occasioned by any other cause the "Assembly" followed by the "Alarm" will sound, and the whole of the troops in garrison (regular and militia) will get under arms and assemble as quickly as possible at their respective alarm posts.
