NEW PLYMOUTH, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 1859.
PROCLAMATION.
By George Cutfield, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Taranaki, intituled “The Fencing Ordinance, 1858,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the said Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed for that purpose by the Superintendent by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the Province.
Now, therefore, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby proclaim and declare the provisions of the said Ordinance shall be in force in the Province of Taranaki from and after the 28th day of February, 1859.
Given under my hand at New Plymouth, in the Province of Taranaki, this 8th day of February, one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine.

HUA POUND.
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, 8th February, 1859.
In exercise of the authority given by “An Ordinance to authorise and regulate the impounding of cattle and to provide for the summary recovery of compensation for damage done by cattle trespassing,” I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby suppress the Public Pound on Section No. 34 in the Bell district and substitute the enclosure newly made on the Reserve in the Hua Village as a Public Pound, and I hereby appoint
Thomas Frederick Goddard
to be keeper of such Pound.
