PUBLIC FOOTPATHS.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, 1st December, 1859.

NOTICE.—In exercise of the authority given by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council intituled the “Municipal Police Ordinance, 1854,” I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby give notice and declare that the footway on the West and East sides of Liardet street, between Courtenay street and Devon street, in the Town of New Plymouth, of the width of eight feet more or less, and also the footway on the West side of Gover street, between Devon street and Gill street, also in the Town of New Plymouth, of the width of eight feet more, or less, shall henceforth be deemed and taken to be Public Footpaths within the meaning of an Ordinance of the Lieut.-Governor of New Zealand and of the Legislative Council thereof, intituled “An Ordinance to provide for the protection of Footpaths in the Colony of New Zealand,” and shall be protected accordingly.
