NEW PLYMOUTH, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1859.
PROCLAMATION.
In exercise of the power in this behalf in me vested, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby proclaim and appoint that the Seventh Session of the Provincial Council of the said Province shall be holden at the Council Chamber in the Town of New Plymouth in the said Province, and shall commence on Monday the 7th day of February instant, at half-past 10 o’clock in the forenoon.
Given under my hand at New Plymouth, in the Province of Taranaki, this first day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine.

THE following tenders for draining the Swamp at the entrance of the Bayly Road have been received, and are published for general information.
TENDER ACCEPTED:
W. BAYLY—By tunnelling 25 feet, if practicable; if not, by open drain, 4 feet wide at top, 2½ feet or more at bottom £6 0 0
TENDERS REJECTED:
T. HAMLIN and J. GOODMAN—By open drain, 3 feet wide ... £10 0 0
S. CURTIS and ROWAN—By open drain, 2 feet wide at bottom ... £10 0 0
