NEW PLYMOUTH, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1859.


PROCLAMATION.

By GEORGE CUTFIELD, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki.

WHEREAS by an Act passed in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of her Majesty’s reign, intituled “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to fix such place or places within the limits of the Province for holding the first and every other Session of the Provincial Council as he may think fit. Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby proclaim and declare that the next sitting of the eighth Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Taranaki shall be holden in the Stone Building on Town Section No. 945, Courtenay-street, in the Town of New Plymouth, in the said Province.

NOTICE.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, 22nd Sept., 1859.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance of the present Session of the Provincial Council, entitled the “Town of New Plymouth Compensation Ordinance, 1859,” the Superintendent is empowered to grant compensation to persons whose lands lying within the boundary of the said town have been taken for public purposes, and is required to give notice to persons claiming such compensation to deposit their claims in writing at the office of the Superintendent within 30 days from the date of such notice. Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby give notice that all persons whose land lying within the Town of New Plymouth has been taken wholly or in part for Military Reserves, Native Reserves, Public Thoroughfares, or other purposes of public utility, and who may desire to take advantage of the provisions of the said Town of New Plymouth Compensation Ordinance, must deposit the particulars of such their claims in writing at my office on or before Saturday, the 22nd October next, or they will be deprived of the benefit of the said Ordinance.
