PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS in the Eighth Session of the Provincial Council of Taranaki, held in the twenty-third year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, two Ordinances were passed, intituled respectively "The Town of New Plymouth Compensation Ordinance, 1859," and "The Town of New Plymouth Consolidation Ordinance, 1859," and whereas the said Ordinances were, on the 14th day of July last, presented to me for the assent of His Excellency the Governor and were then reserved by me for the signification of His Excellency's pleasure thereon, and whereas His Excellency has been pleased to assent to the said Ordinances.

Now, therefore, I do hereby proclaim that His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor of New Zealand, has assented to the said Ordinances, and that I received the signification of His Excellency's assent on the 29th day of August, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.

Given under my hand, at New Plymouth, this first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.

ARCHDEACONRY OF TARANAKI.
I hereby give notice that an Archdeaconry has been constituted within the Province of Taranaki, by the name of the ARCHDEACONRY of TARANAKI, and that HENRY GOVERN, Clerk, has been appointed to the office of Archdeacon of Taranaki:

New Plymouth, 9th July, 1859.

WILLIAM HALSE, a Commissioner duly appointed by virtue of the Ordinance No. 15, Session XI., of the Legislative Council of the Islands of New Zealand, to hear and decide Claims to Land by persons claiming Title thereto, from, through, or under the New Zealand Company, report that the Claims of the persons whose names appear in the Schedule hereunder, having been duly referred to me for investigation, I do hereby decide that the said persons are respectively entitled to the Crown Grants set against their names in the said Schedule.
