IT is hereby notified that, from and after the date hereof, the following Regulations for the Storage of Powder in the Provincial Magazine will come into operation.

REGULATIONS FOR THE STORAGE OF POWDER IN THE PROVINCIAL MAGAZINE.

  1. The Magazine and Ammunition will be in charge of the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of Artillery at this station.

  2. No Ammunition will either be received into or issued from the Magazine without a written order signed by the Superintendent or the Provincial Secretary.

  3. The time for issuing Ammunition will be at the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day (weather permitting), Sundays excepted.

  4. All persons intending to withdraw Ammunition must give at least 24 hours’ notice to the officer in charge. A receipt will be required on delivery.

  5. All packages, barrels, &c., to be marked or labelled with the storer’s name previously to being placed in the Magazine.

Charges for Storing Powder in the Magazine.

For Packages or Barrels under 50lbs. each, 2d. per week.
Ditto, above 50lbs., 3d. per week.
Receiving and delivering each, 6d. per package or barrel.


ROADS AND BRIDGES.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, 9th June, 1859.

WHEREAS, by the 6th clause of the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” it is enacted that General Meetings of the Electors of the several districts constituted under the Ordinance shall be convened in the month of May in every year, on such day and at such place as shall be appointed by the Superintendent.

And whereas the Superintendent did appoint that the General Meeting of the Electors of the First District should be held on Monday, the 23rd day of May last past.

And whereas the proceedings of the Electors at such General Meeting having been called in question, have been duly referred to me for decision, and are hereby declared invalid. Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent, do hereby convene another General Meeting for the same District, with all the powers which the former meeting had, to be held at the Bell Inn, Ina Village, on Monday, the 20th day of June instant, at 2 o’clock p.m.
