IT is hereby notified for general information that from and after the 1st day of January 1859, the Province of New Plymouth will be called the Province of Taranaki, in accordance with the provisions of the "Province of Taranaki Act 1858."

TENDERS FOR STONE CULVERT.

New Plymouth, 29th December, 1858.

THE following Tenders for the erection of a stone culvert in the Bayly road have been received and are published for general information.

TENDER ACCEPTED.
W. Bayly—for culvert 18 x 24 inches and making cart road } 7s. 6d. per lineal foot.

TENDER REJECTED.
N. Hooker—for culvert 16 x 24 inches, without lime—12s. per lineal foot, or £14 10s. for 25 feet.

MILITIA ARMS
AND ACCOUTREMENTS.

Provincial Secretary's Office,
New Plymouth, 29th December, 1858.

ALL persons retaining in their possession the arms and accoutrements served out to the New Plymouth Militia are hereby required to return the same forthwith to the Armed Police, otherwise the Provincial Government will take legal measures for their recovery without further notice.
