PROCLAMATION.
By GEORGE CUTFIELD, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province
of New Plymouth.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Imperial
Parliament passed in the fifteenth and
sixteenth years of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria intituled "An Act to grant
a Representative Constitution to the Co-
lony of New Zealand" it is amongst other
things enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Superintendent to prorogue the Pro-
vincial Council from time to time whenever
he shall deem it expedient so to do. Now
therefore I, the Superintendent of the Pro-
vince of New Plymouth, do proclaim and
declare that in pursuance of the authority
vested in me in that behalf by the said Act
I do hereby prorogue the Provincial Coun-
cil of New Plymouth, and that the said
Provincial Council is prorogued accord-
ingly.

mouth, this thirtieth day of
October, 1858.

ERADICATION OF THISTLE.

THE following Tenders for the eradica-
tion of the Scotch Thistle on the Na-
tive Reserves Nos. 3 and 4, on the Mangorei
road, for the term of one year, commencing
on 1st November next, have been received,
and are published for general information.
