New Plymouth, 2nd September, 1858.
TENDERS for shingling the roof of the Gaol will be received at this office until noon on Saturday the 11th instant. Tenders to state the description of shingles and cost per square of 100 feet, and to be sealed and endorsed \"Tender for shingling Gaol.\"

Sir,—I have the honor to forward to you enclosed the Account Current of the Province of New Plymouth with the General Government from the 1st January 1853 to the present time on account of its proportionate share of the Surplus Revenues of the Colony, and have to inform you that the Sub Treasurer has been instructed to pay into the Provincial Treasury the sum of one hundred and thirty four pounds, nine shillings, and twopence (£134 : 9 : 2) being the amount to which the Province is entitled on the distribution of £4000 on account of the Surplus Revenues for the year 1857-8.
