PROCLAMATION.
By GEORGE CUTFIELD, Esq, Superintendent of the Province of New Plymouth.
WHEREAS in the fourth Session of the Provincial Council of New Plymouth, held in the 20th year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, an Ordinance was passed intituled "An Ordinance to establish an Executive Government of the Province of New Plymouth, and to enlarge the Provincial Council;" and whereas the said Ordinance was, on the 20th day of November, 1856, presented to Charles Brown, Esquire, the then Superintendent of the said Province for the assent of His Excellency the Governor, and was then reserved by him for the signification of His Excellency's pleasure thereon, and whereas His Excellency has been pleased to assent to the said Ordinance: Now I, the said George Cutfield, Superintendent of the Province of New Plymouth, do hereby proclaim that His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, the Governor of New Zealand, has assented to the said Ordinance, and that the said Charles Brown, Esquire, as such Superintendent, received the signification of His Excellency's assent on the 26th day of December, 1856.
