NOTICE.
Superintendent's Office,
4th October, 1856.
IN exercise of the powers in me vested for this purpose, I hereby appoint the enclosure newly made on Section No. 34 in the Bell Block, which enclosure adjoins the Bell Inn, and abuts on the Devon Road, to be a Public Pound. And I hereby appoint
THOMAS FREDERICK GODDARD
to be Keeper of such Pound.

SURVEY PEGS.
Superintendent's Office,
6th October 1856.
TENDERS will be received at this office until noon on Wednesday the 15th instant for the supply of 250 Survey Pegs.
The Pegs to be of straight grained split Puriri, each 2 inches square and 2 feet long and to be delivered at the store of Messrs Pearce & Co. in the Hua Block, on or before the 10th of November next.
Tenders to state the price per hundred, to be endorsed "Tender for Survey Pegs," and sealed.

CUSTOMS SALE.
THE following goods will be sold by Public Auction at Mr Marshall's Bonding Warehouse, on Saturday the 11th day of October 1856, at noon, for duty and warehouse rent (under Nos. 3, 4, Vic. Section 48) unless cleared for home consumption or exportation previous to the above date—
BIENVENUE—One case Wearing Apparel ex Cashmere, Pearson, @ London, via Auckland—warehoused on the 30th day of September 1853.
Also, and at the same time (abandoned for duty)—
SN § 1—One cask Raspberry Cordial, containing 10 gallons, ex Venture, Taylor, @ Sydney, on the 15th of August 1856.

£10 REWARD.

9th October 1856.
WHEREAS some evil-disposed person or persons did on Monday last, about 8 o'clock in the evening, during a Public Meeting in the Wesleyan Chapel, discharge some Firework in the immediate vicinity of the building, seriously alarming the inhabitants assembled—The above Reward will be paid to any person who shall give such information as will lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders.
