VOL. III. NEW PLYMOUTH, WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 1855. [No. 8.

IN exercise of the power for this purpose in me vested by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of New Plymouth, passed in the first Session of the said Council, intituled "An Ordinance to regulate the expenditure of money applicable to the promotion of Immigration," I notify that the subjoined Regulation has been submitted to and approved by the said Provincial Council, and shall be in force for the purposes of the said Ordinance.

Given under my hand at New Plymouth, this 12th day of May, 1855.

Further Regulation for the expenditure of money applicable to Immigration from Melbourne in the Colony of Victoria.

  1. Immigrants may be relieved of all liability on account of their Promissory Notes on paying half the amount of their passage money to the Provincial Treasurer within six calendar months from their arrival in the Province.

NOTICE.

IN exercise of the powers in me vested for this purpose I hereby appoint the Enclosure abutting on Gill-street between Liardet-street and Gover-street to be a Public Pound. And I hereby appoint

JOHN DUNN,
to be Keeper of such Pound.

TENDERS FOR THE ERECTION OF A CUSTOM HOUSE.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until Noon of Friday the 1st day of June now next ensuing, for the erection of a Building for the purposes of a Custom House.

Information respecting the size and other particulars may be obtained at the Custom House.

The Tenders are to be accompanied by Plans and specifications, to state a time within which the work is to be completed after the signature of the contract, and to contain the name of at least one surety for the due performance of the contract.

Tenders to specify, separately, the rates, whether the Building shall be covered with shingles or slates.
