NOTICE.
Superintendent's Office;
New Plymouth, February 24th, 1854.
ALL Settlers interested in the under-mentioned proposed roads are informed that they will be submitted for the approval of the Provincial Council at the Sitting on Saturday the 4th March.
Memorials for or against the said lines, or Petitions to be heard thereanent before the Council, should be transmitted through the Superintendent, or through some member of the Provincial Council.
Surveyed Lines.
No. 1. Tapuae Inland—through Nos. 516 (in the occupation of Mr. Tuffin) 515, 514, 513 and 782, Grey Block, extending into the Omata Block. Total length about 3 miles.
No. 2. Grey Inland, right branch—in continuation of the Carrington Road, through the Rata nui Estate into the Grey Block, between the Rivers Henui and Huatoki. Total length about 3 miles.—This road is in substitution for the line of the old survey track passing through the said Estate, and dividing No. 774b from No. 776.
No. 3. Grey Inland, left branch—Branch road from No. 2, crossing the Henui river into the Grey Block between the rivers Henui and Mangorei. Total length about 3 miles.
Not Surveyed.
No. 4. Road into the Omata Block, between the Rivers Nakara and Paopaohaonui. Total length about 3 miles.
Information will be given at this Office and at the Survey Office.

NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in order to put a stop as much as possible to the evil of Drunkenness amongst the Native Population, the Governor has been pleased to direct that in future the whole penalty which may be inflicted for a breach of the "Sale of Spirits Ordinance" shall be handed over to the informer.

A SPECIAL MEETING of the JUSTICES OF THE PEACE for the Town and Province of New Plymouth will be holden at the Resident Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth, on Tuesday, the 7th day of March next, at 12 o'Clock, Noon, for the purpose of forming a Militia List, for the year next ensuing.
