PROCLAMATION.
By William Wood, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Southland.
WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, the short title whereof is "The Superintendents Deputy Act, 1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of any province, by proclamation to be published in the "Government Gazette" of such province to appoint such person as he may think fit, being an inhabitant of such province and being registered as an elector on the electoral roll of some electoral district within such province, to be his Deputy, and as such to do, perform, and exercise all the acts, powers, and authorities (except as in the seventh clause of the said Act is excepted) which may be done, performed, or exercised by such Superintendent.
Now therefore, I, William Wood, the Superintendent of the Province of Southland, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby appoint
James Wilson, Esq.,
an inhabitant of the said Province, registered as an elector on the electoral roll of the Waianiwa District, within the Province of Southland aforesaid, to be my Deputy, and as such to perform and exercise all the acts, powers, and authorities (except as in the seventh clause of "The Superintendents Deputy Act, 1866,")
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Southland, at Invercargill, this eighth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and seventy.
