the powers conferred by sections twenty-two, forty,
forty-eight, sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and
seven of the said Act, subject or not to any limita-
tions or restrictions as he may think fit, and in like
manner to alter or revoke any such powers:
Now therefore I, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the
Governor as aforesaid of the said Colony, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, there-
of, and in exercise of the power and authority for this
purpose in me vested, do hereby delegate unto
William Wood, Esq.,
as Superintendent of the Province of Southland, all
the powers vested in me under or by virtue of the
said "Gold Fields Act, 1866," except the powers
conferred by sections twenty-two, forty, forty-eight,
sixty, ninety-six, and one hundred and seven, to
have, hold, and exercise, within the Province of
Southland, the said powers hereby given to the said
William Wood, so long as he shall continue and
remain Superintendent of the said Province and no
longer: Provided always that copies of all Rules
and Regulations made under the delegation afore-
said shall be forthwith transmitted to the Colonial
Secretary, in order that the same may be laid before
the General Assembly, in accordance with the pro-
visions of the one hundred and tenth clause of "The
Gold Fields Act, 1866."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At Auckland, this seventh day of January, 1870.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by "The Protection of Animals Act,
1867," it is enacted that the Governor may,
by Order in Council published in the New Zealand
Gazette, delegate to the Superintendent of any Pro-
vince all or any of the powers by the said Act vested
in the Governor or the Governor in Council, subject
to such regulations as he may think fit, and may from
time to time rescind such delegation:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby delegate unto
William Wood, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Southland, so long
as he shall continue and remain Superintendent of
the said Province, all the powers which, by the said
fifth section of the said Amendment Act, the Gover-
nor in Council is authorised so to delegate.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Auckland, this
seventh day of January, 1870.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
of New Zealand intituled "The Diseased
Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1865" (section 4), the
Governor may, by any Order in Council, from time
to time annual, make void, or alter or vary and make
anew, any Orders in Council, regulations, appoint-
ments, or prohibitory or other declarations made and
published by the Governor under the authority of
"The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861" or of this Act, or
by the Superintendent of any Province under or in
pursuance of any power delegated to him under any
of the powers of delegation contained in the said
Act: And whereas by section five of the said Amend-
ment Act as to regulations, appointments, and
prohibitory and other declarations made by Superin-
tendents of Provinces in pursuance of any powers
delegated under the powers of delegation contained
in the said Act or this Act, the power of annulling,
making void, or allowing or varying and making,
anew, any such regulations, appointments, or pro-
hibitory or other declarations vested in the Governor
by this Act, may from time to time be delegated by
the Governor in Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Colony, in pursuance and in exercise of the
WHEREAS by "The Lunatics Act, 1868," it
is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council, from time to time, to order
and direct that all or any of the powers, functions,
duties and authorities vested in or required to be
performed by the Governor, or the Governor in
Council, or the Colonial Secretary, by the said Act,
within any Province or other District of the Colony,
shall be exercised or performed by the Superinten-
dent of any such Province, or by any other person the
Governor may think fit; and thereupon such func-
tions, powers, duties and authorities may, by such
Superintendent or other person, be exercised or per-
formed within the Province or other District of the
Colony specified:
Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir George Fergu-
son Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Colony, doth hereby delegate unto
William Wood, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Southland, so long
as he shall continue and remain Superintendent of
the said Province, all the powers vested by the said
Act in the Governor or the Governor in Council, to
be exercised only in respect of the said Province.
