CUSTOMS NOTICE.—The undermentioned persons have been duly licensed to act as Custom House Agents at the Port of Bluff Harbor, for the period set opposite their respective names:—

It is hereby notified that I have reserved for sale under clause 16 of The Southland Waste Lands Act 1865, sections 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, & 23, block XIX., Invercargill Hundred, for an endowment for a College, forming a total of 149 acres 1 rood 38 poles.

BYE-LAWS PROPOSED BY THE WARDENS OF THE NEW RIVER HUNDRED, AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 10th APRIL, 1868.
1st. That no cattle of any description be depastured on the New River Hundred without a license, provided always that cattle and horses of bona fide travellers on their journey, when turned out, if not considered trespassers, if not longer than three nights in the same neighborhood.
2nd. That cattle shall be impounded forthwith belonging to persons not having taken out their depasturing license for the current year.
3rd. That no sheep or small cattle of any description be depastured on the New River Hundred.
4th. That no entire horse over twelve months old be depastured on the New River Hundred, without special permission of the Wardens. Any person contravening this clause, shall be fined the full sum of five pounds sterling.
5th. That no bull over nine months old be depastured on the New River Hundred without special permission of the Wardens. Any person contravening this clause, shall be fined the full sum of five pounds sterling.
6th. That all license-holders do register their brands, or the brands of their cattle or horses, within two months from the date of the election of Wardens, with the Warden living nearest to them.
7th. That the Wardens will not be responsible for any cattle they may impound not bearing brands according to the Cattle Branding Ordinance.
8th. That all stray cattle be impounded.
9th. That no person shall be allowed to depasture more than twenty-five head of cattle for every section of land of one hundred acres in his occupation, and proportionally for sections of larger or smaller size.
10th. That the penalty for any breach of the foregoing bye-laws, be any sum not exceeding five pounds sterling, to be recovered in a summary way, according to the tenth division of the 67th clause of the Land Regulations.

I. No cattle of any description shall be depastured except by License Holders.
II. No sheep shall be depastured on the uninclosed lands.
