IT is hereby notified that I have appointed

to be keeper of the Invercargill Public Pound.

IN pursuance of the powers in me vested in that behalf, I hereby notify that the stockyard enclosure, erected upon a part of the Town Belt, situated between Tay-street and Forth-street, is appointed to be a public Pound, within the meaning and under the provisions of the “Cattle Trespass Ordinance, 1866,” and the “Cattle Trespass Ordinance, 1866, Amendment Ordinance, 1867.”

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf, I hereby give notice that after the fifth day of August current, the Pound-keeper of the Pound at Invercargill, is authorised to charge pound-fees and sustenance charges according to the scale hereunto annexed.

For each Entire horse above the age of 12 months ... 3 0
" each Mare, Gelding, Colt, Filly, Foal, Mule, Ass, Goat, or Pig ... 1 6
" Bull, above the age of 12 months ... 3 0
" Ox, Cow, Steer, Heifer, or Calf ... 1 6
" First ten ... 1 0
" Second ten ... 0 6
" Third ten ... 0 3
" Ram, above the age of 9 months ... 1 0
" Ewe, Wedder, or Lamb, first twenty ... 0 3
" All over twenty in number ... 0 1
The above fees to be paid for each day, or part of a day, during which the animal is kept in the pound.
CHARGES FOR FOOD.
For every Horse, Mare, Gelding, Mule, Ass, Colt, Filly, or foal ... 3 0

PROCLAMATION
By His Honor JOHN PARKIN TAYLOR, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Southland, under the “Hospitals Ordinance, 1863.”
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of Southland, intituled the “Hospitals Ordinance, 1863,” it is inter alia enacted “that the provisions of this Ordinance, or any part thereof, shall be applied to such institutions only, to which the Superintendent with the advice and consent of His Executive Council, shall think fit to apply the same by proclamation, to be published in the Provincial Government Gazette. And from and after the publication thereof, this Ordinance shall be deemed, and taken to apply to the institution specified in any such proclamation.”
Now therefore I, the Superintendent of the Province of Southland, in exercise of the said recited power and authority, with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Provisions of the said Ordinance shall be deemed and taken to apply to the building and grounds described in the Schedule to these presents, and known as the Southland Hospital and grounds, exclusive of the building known as the Lunatic Asylum.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Southland, at Invercargill, this twenty-seventh day of July, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven.

All that piece or parcel of land situated and being on part of the Invercargill Town Belt, to the northward, known as part of the Hospital.
