IT is hereby notified that the Timber on the Land described below will be sold under Clause LXXVI of “Southland Waste Lands Act, 1865,” by auction, on the 11th day of June next, at Twelve o’clock noon, at the Land Office, Invercargill, viz.—
80 Acres, more or less, being that part of the Makarewa Bush Reserve, lying west of the Northern Railway, in Block XIII., Invercargill Hundred, bounded on the north by Section No. 27, on the west by Sections Nos. 32 and 33, on the south by a Public Road, and on the east by the Railway Reserve, at an upset price of £2 per acre.
40 Acres, more or less, being part of the Makarewa Bush Reserve, lying east of the Northern Railway, in Block XIV., Invercargill Hundred, bounded on the north by a Public Road, on the west by the Northern Railway Reserve, on the south by Section No. 89, and on the east by a north and south line to include the required acreage.

IT is hereby notified that Section No. 18 in the Waihau District, containing 6a. 1r. 24p., in the Snowdown Bush, on Run No. 165, will be sold by Auction under clause XXIX. of the “Southland Waste Land Act, 1865,” at an upset price of £2 per acre, at the Land Office, on Tuesday, the 6th day of June, 1867, at 12 o’clock.

PROCLAMATION
By the Hon. JOHN PARKIN TAYLOR,
Superintendent of the Province of Southland,
IN pursuance and exercise of the power in me vested in this behalf, I do hereby constitute and appoint to be a goldfield, under the provisions of the “Goldfields Act, 1866,” under the name of the Campbelltown Goldfield, all that territory comprised between the low water mark, and on chain above high water mark of the ocean, from Section No. 1, Block V, Campbelltown Hundred to Sheep Head and round to the Pilot Reserve on Stirling’s Point, Bluff Harbor, also the area comprised within the following Government Reserves, that portion of Stanley Township lying west of Mokomoko Inlet, the Pilot Station Reserve at Steep Head, the Pasturage Reserve and Section No. 1, Block IV, Campbelltown Hundred; and I declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation and take effect on the day of the date hereof.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Southland, this 16th day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

INQUIRIES having been made respecting a person named James Battersby Wray, of Hawksbury Mills, Canada West, America, by profession a Civil Engineer, and who is supposed to have been surveying on the Waikiwi Plains, Southland, in September 1863. Any person who may be able to give any information respecting him is requested to communicate with the Chief Surveyor of Southland.
