AN ORDINANCE

to make provision for the better protection of property in the Province of Southland from damage by fire.

Title.

Preamble.
WHEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the further and better protection of property in the Province of Southland from loss and damage by fire.

Be it therefore enacted by the Superintendent of the said Province of Southland by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof as follows:—

  1. The short title of this Ordinance shall be “The Fires Ordinance 1867.”
