Appropriation of Public Revenues.

  1. Out of the public revenues of the said Province there may be issued and applied for the public service of the Province for the period from the 1st January to the 30th June, 1867, period commencing on the 1st January and ending on the inclusive as per 30th June in manner set forth in the Schedules A and B to this Ordinance any sum or sums of money not exceeding the sums in such schedules specified amounting in the whole to the sum of twenty thousand five hundred and eighty-two pounds ten shillings and two-pence.

Provincial Treasurer to issue.

  1. The Provincial Treasurer shall issue from time to time any upon warrant sum or sums of money not exceeding the sums in such schedule by the Superintendent severally specified to such persons and in such proportions as the Superintendent shall by any warrants under his hand from time to time direct and shall be allowed credit in his accounts for all sums so paid by him in pursuance of such warrants and the receipts of the persons to whom such sums shall have been paid shall be a full discharge for the sum or sums for which such receipts shall be given.

Provincial Treasurer to be allowed credit.

  1. And whereas in defraying the charge of the Provincial Government and in the Public Service of the said province for the period commencing the 1st April, 1866, and ending the 31st December, 1866, certain sums of money amounting from 1st in the whole to the sum of six thousand nine hundred and April to 31st December, 1866 eighty-six pounds nineteen shillings and three pence were issued and paid by the Provincial Treasurer in pursuance of warrants under the hand of the Superintendent and such sums were paid on account of the services set forth in the Schedules C and D to this Ordinance but were not included in any Ordinance for the appropriation of the public revenue of the said Province. Be it therefore enacted that the Provincial Treasurer shall be allowed credit in his accounts for all sums of money so issued and paid by him on the several accounts set forth in the schedules C and D hereunto annexed and the receipts of the persons to whom such sums of money shall have been paid under such warrants shall be a complete discharge for the sum or sums of money for which such receipts shall have been given.

Persons in possession of Public Funds to pay the same to Treasurer.

  1. Every person who shall have possession of any public funds of the said Province is hereby authorised and required to pay the same to the Treasurer thereof or to such other person and in such manner as the Superintendent by warrant granted under his hand shall direct.
