PROCLAMATION

By the Hon. John Parkin Taylor,
Esq., Superintendent of the
Province of Southland.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power
in me vested in this behalf, I do
hereby constitute and appoint to be a
goldfield, under the provisions of the
"Goldfields Act, 1866," under the name
of the Bushy Point Goldfield, all that
territory along the coastline of the Pro-
vince of Southland, comprised within the
area bounded on the west by eastern boun-
dary of certain claims or grants at Te
Waewae Point, under the "Native Claims
Settlement Act"; on the east by the
Mataura River; on the south by low
water mark; on the north by a line
running parallel to high-water mark, at
the distance of (40) forty chains; and I
declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation and take effect on the day
of the date hereof.

issued under the public
seal of the Province of
Southland, this Twenty-
seventh day of October,
one thousand eight hun-
dred and sixty-six.

THE Partnership for some time sub-
sisting between John F. Dundas
and James A. R. Menzies, as Runholders,
on Run No. 896, in the Province of
Southland, has this day been dissolved by
mutual consent.

PROCLAMATION.

By the Hon. John Parkin Taylor,
Esq., Superintendent of the
Province of Southland.

IN pursuance of the power in me
vested, I do hereby proclaim and de-
clare that the Districts described in the
Schedule following, shall be a district for
the purpose of slaughtering Cattle under
the provisions of the "Slaughter House
Ordinance, 1847," and I further declare
that the provisions of the said Ordinance
shall come into operation within the said
District on the first day of November, 1866.

of Southland, this twenty-seventh
day of October, one thousand
Eight Hundred and Sixty-six.

SCHEDULE.

OREPUKI AND LONGWOOD DISTRICT.

Bounded on the North by an east and west
line in transit with the top of Ferndun-
aw-Hill from the Waiau to a tributary
of Purra-purra-kino River, rising to the
eastward of the aforesaid Hill: on the
East: by said tributary and the Purra-
purra-kino River, to Block XVII Jacob’s
River Hundred, then by Block XVII and
Block I of aforesaid Hundred to the
ocean; on the South and South West by
low-water mark of the ocean, in Foveaux
Straits, and on the West by the Waiau
River; excepting always out of the area
hereinbefore described the following
native Reserves and Runs.

The native Reserve at Kolac’s Bay,
bounded on the north east by a line
(starting from a marked peg on the beach)
bearing 308.12 on the true meridian, a
distance of 72 chains 40 links; on the
north west by a line, bearing 218.21 on
the true meridian to high water mark,
and on the south west and east by the
high water mark of the ocean in Foveaux
Straits.

The native reserve at Wakapatu Bay,
bounded on the north east by a line (starting
from a marked peg on the Beach)
bearing 279.30 on the magnetic
meridian a distance of about 76 chains;
on the north west by a line bearing 210
on the magnetic meridian to the ocean, and
on the south west and south east by the
high water mark of the ocean in Foveaux
Straits.

The native reserve at Pahia point
bounded on the north east by a line starting
from a pole on the Beach on the north
east Bay bearing 125 on the magnetic
meridian to the high water mark in Otui
Bay and on the north west and south
west by the high water mark of the ocean
in Foveaux Straits.
