It is hereby notified that J. A. R. Menzies, Esq., will act as Chief Commissioner of the Waste Land Board, in absence of W. H. Pearson, Esq.

It is hereby notified that on and after the 22nd instant, the tonnage dues on vessels at Invercargill Jetty, will be payable to, and received by, Captain J. B. Greig, Harbour Master.

NOTICE. — ORETI FERRY.
In virtue of the powers in me vested in that behalf, I hereby give notice, that after the 1st January, 1865, the Fares and Freights chargeable at the Oreti Ferry for persons, animals, and carriages, shall be as follows, viz.:—

| Horse, mule, or ass, each | 0 | 6 |
| Head of neat cattle | 0 | 6 |
| If over 10 in number, each | 0 | 3 |
| Sheep, goat or hog—if under 20 each | 0 | 2 |
| Over 20 and under 50 | 0 | 1 |
| 50 and upwards | 0 | 0½ |
| Cart, dray, or carriage—if unloaded, or laden with less than 3 cwt. | 2 | 0 |
| If laden with more than 3 cwt. | 3 | 0 |
(Drivers of vehicles so charged, and horses or bullocks drawing the same, to be exempt from charge.)
From one hour after sunset till sunrise, the above fares and freights, and one half more shall be charged.
Further, I hereby give notice that the Mail, and persons exhibiting a Certificate under the hand of the Superintendent, that they are on duty, under the employment of the Government, are exempt from the payment of the said Fares and Freights.
