NOTICE TO OWNERS OF CATTLE RUNNING AT AND NEAR THE TITIPUA STREAM.
NOTICE is hereby given that Cattle known to be infected with the disease called pleuro-pneumonia, are now running on that piece of land, lying to the north-west of the Titipua stream, and between it and the Titipua sheep Quarantine ground; and that district is hereby temporarily appointed a Quarantine ground, for diseased Cattle:

THE following Bills, passed by the Provincial Council of the Province of Southland, intituled,—
“The Church of England Cemetery Ordinance, 1863,”
“Impounding Ordinance, 1864,”
which Bills were reserved for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency has been pleased to withhold his assent to the same.

CUSTOMS.
Governor’s Order, No. 49.
By His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight, Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
In exercise of the power in me vested by the “Customs Regulation Act, 1858,” I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the following day in every year to be kept as a Holiday at the Custom Houses at the undermentioned Ports, as the Anniversary of the Foundation of the Settlement within which such Ports are situate (that is to say):—
At Invercargill, Bluff Harbour, and Riverton, and any other Port to be hereafter declared, within the limits of the Province of Southland,
31st March,
Provided that when the said day falls on a Sunday, the following day may be kept as a Holiday instead.
Given under my hand at the Government House, at Auckland, this eleventh day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
