INVERCARGILL TOWN BOARD.
ELECTION OF NEW BOARD TO CONSIST OF TWELVE MEMBERS.
In pursuance of the provisions of the “Town Board Ordinance, 1863,” I, the Superintendent of Southland, do hereby appoint the electors entitled to vote for members for the town of Invercargill in the Provincial Council of Southland, to assemble upon Saturday, the twenty-ninth day of August current, at noon, in the School-house, Invercargill, for the purpose of electing twelve persons, who shall be the Members of the Town Board of Invercargill, under the provisions of the Ordinance aforesaid. And I hereby appoint Robert Mitchell, Esq., Returning Officer, to preside at the said meeting, and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby appoint the Polling to take place in the Office of the Town Board, on Monday, the thirty-first day of August, current.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT
Articles of Agreement made the tenth day of July, in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, between James M’Meekan and John Hutchison Blackwood, both of the City of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, merchants, of the one part, and His Honor J. A. R. Menzies, of Invercargill, in the Province of Southland, in the Colony of New Zealand, as Her Majesty’s Superintendent of the Province of Southland, and for and on behalf of the said last-mentioned Province, of the other part:
Witness that the said James M’Meekan and John Hutchison Blackwood, in consideration of the payments hereinafter covenanted to be made to them, do hereby, for themselves, their heirs, executors, and administrators respectively, jointly covenant, and each of them, for himself, his heirs, executors, and administrators, doth hereby severally covenant with the said J. A. R. Menzies.
