**PROCLAMATION ***
By JAMES A. R. MENZIES, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Southland.
IN pursuance of the power in me vested in that behalf by the “Education Ordinance, 1862,” I hereby proclaim and declare that the district named and described in the schedule hereunder written, shall be an Educational District under the said Ordinance: and I do hereby further declare that the provisions of the said Ordinance shall come into operation in the said district from and after the Twentieth day of July, 1863.
Given under my hand this ninth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

SCHEDULE.
Bounded on the east, by the Aparima River; on the south, by the Aparima River, and the estuary of the same; on the west, by the Pura Pura Kina, and west boundary of Block XIII, Jacob’s River Hundred; on the north and north-east, by the north boundary of the said Block XIII, by the west boundary and the south boundary of Block VIII of the said Hundred.
Invercargill Public Pound,
24th July, 1863.
IMPOUNDED, one Bay Horse, small star on forehead, no brands to be seen, about seven years old. If not claimed to be sold at the Pound here on the 20th day of August next, at 12 o’clock, noon.
