SOUTHLAND
PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION
By James A. R. Menzies, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Southland.
WHEREAS, by the provisions of Section 9 of the “Sheep Ordinance 1862,” it is enacted that the Superintendent shall proclaim districts within the Province of Southland for the purposes of the said Ordinance:
Now, therefore, I, the said Superintendent, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district bounded on the south and south-west by the ocean, on the east and north-east by a right line running from the beach due north to the east end of the Bluff Harbour, thence by the north arm of the Harbour to the head of the Cove at its north-west end, thence by a right line to the head of the Mokomoko Inlet, thence along to its entrance into the New River Estuary, thence to the middle of the debouchure of the Oreti into the said Estuary, thence by a right line extended northerly to the ocean, shall be a district for the purposes of the said Ordinance; and to be known by the name of the “Bluff District,” and that the Province of Southland, excepting the district above named, shall be district for the purposes of the said Ordinance, and shall be known by the name of the “Country District.”
Given under my hand this Second day of February, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

PROCLAMATION
By James A. R. Menzies, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Southland.
WHEREAS, by a Proclamation issued on the 25th day of January 1863, it was notified that the fourth session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Southland shall be held within the Court-house, Invercargill, on the said Province, and shall commence upon Saturday the 21st day of February, at 12 o’clock noon, and the members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at the said time and place accordingly.
And whereas, it is expedient to alter the same in that behalf, I do hereby fix and proclaim that the fourth session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Southland shall be held within the building known as the Mechanics’ Institute, Invercargill, in the said Province, and shall commence upon Saturday the 21st day of February, at 12 o’clock noon, and the members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at the said time and place accordingly.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Southland this ninth day of February, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.
