We, the undersigned Auditors of the Provincial Treasurer’s accounts for the Province of Southland, for the nine months ending thirty-first December 1861, having examined the same, find that they are correctly stated, duly authorised, and properly vouched; that the revenue was Twenty thousand four hundred and seventy-seven pounds, seventeen shillings, and eight pence halfpenny; the expenditure, Six thousand eight hundred and ninety-five pounds, fifteen shillings, and one farthing; and that there remained in the hands of the Provincial Treasurer the sum of Thirteen thousand five hundred and eighty two-pounds, two shillings, and seven pence three farthings. Of the above-mentioned expenditure, the sum of one thousand three hundred and fifty-nine pounds, eleven shillings, and eleven pence halfpenny was expended in excess of the sums voted in the Appropriation Ordinance.
