IT is hereby notified, that I have provisionally appointed Andrew Jameson Elles, Esq., to be Harbour Master (temporarily) for the Ports of the Bluff and New River.

IT is hereby notified, that I have appointed Matthew Price, Esq., R. M., to be an Auditor of the Public Accounts of the Province of Southland, under the provisions of the Ordinances of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, entitled respectively the “Board of Audit Ordinance, 1854,” and the “Board of Audit and Executive Council Ordinance, 1859.”

INVERCARGILL TOWN BOARD
ELECTION OF TOWN BOARD,—TO CONSIST OF NINE MEMBERS.
IN pursuance of the Ordinance enacted by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, entitled the “Port Chalmers and Invercargill Town Board Ordinance, 1859,” I, the Superintendent of the Province of Southland, do hereby appoint the Electors entitled to vote for Members of the Town of Invercargill in the Provincial Council of Southland, to assemble upon Tuesday, the Third day of September, 1861, at 12 o’clock noon, at the Schoolhouse, Invercargill, for the purpose of electing the Members of the said Town Board of Invercargill. And I hereby appoint Matthew Price, Esquire, of Invercargill, Returning Officer, to preside at said Meeting: And in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby appoint the Polling to take place in the said Schoolhouse, on Wednesday, the Fourth day of September, 1861.
