IMPOUNDED on the 1st October by William Ross:—

Bay Horse, branded like A. M. on near shoulder. Owner unknown. For trespassing at White Horse Stables, for which 5s. damages are claimed, and in default of being released the same will be sold on the 27th inst., at 12 o’clock noon, at the Municipal Pound, Milton.

Alteration in Tolls, Fares, and Charges for Passengers, &c., on certain Railways in the Province of Otago,

Fixed by Order in Council dated 15th February, 1876, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 10, of 17th February, 1876.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of September, 1876.

Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council bearing date the fifteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventeenth day of the same month and year, certain tolls, fares, and charges for passengers, animals, carriages, goods, merchandise, minerals, articles, matters, and things applicable to certain railways mentioned in the Schedule hereunder, constructed under the Immigration and Public Works Acts, in the Province of Otago, were made: And whereas it is expedient to amend such tolls, fares, and charges:

Now therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities recited in such last-mentioned Order in Council, and of all other power enabling me, and by and with the consent and advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby make the following rates or tolls for wool, in substitution of the rates or tolls for wool fixed by Order in Council dated the fifteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the seventeenth day of the same month and year:

ABSTRACT from previous Gazette of Impounding Notices:—

13TH OCTOBER, FRIDAY NOON.
Four Heifers, a Cow, and a Bull will be sold at Popotunoa Pound.

20TH OCTOBER, FRIDAY NOON.
A Horse and a Mare will be sold at Popotunoa Pound.

Printed under the authority of the Provincial Government of Otago, by GEORGE JONES, of High-street, Dunedin, Printer to said Provincial Government for the time being.


IMPOUNDED at the Oamaru Pound, on the 4th day of October, by Joseph Williams, for trespassing on his growing crops:—

x Bay Mare, branded like MT off shoulder, star on forehead, off hind foot white, for which is claimed 10s. damage and driving fees; also,
x Bay Draught Mare, indistinct brand off shoulder, white spots on nose. Impounded by Andrew Brockman, Ranger for Waitaki Road Board, for which he claims 10s. driving fees.

Owners unknown, and in default of being released the above mares will be sold at the Oamaru Pound on Friday, the 27th day of October, 1876, at twelve o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED, on the 4th day of October, 1876, by Samuel Penny:

One brown or black Horse, fired on front legs, no visible brands, supposed to belong to Thomas Painton, for trespassing on J. T. Chaplin’s paddock, Anderson’s Bay; also on the 7th:

One bay Horse or Colt Gelding, white down face, and near hind fetlock white; no visible brand, by Robert Brown.

Owner unknown, for trespassing on Allan King’s paddock, Green Island, for which £1 driving fees are claimed, and in default of being released the above cattle will be sold at the public Pound at South Dunedin, on the 26th day of October, 1876, at 12 o’clock noon.

We the undersigned, lately carrying on Business as Saddlers at Balclutha, have Dissolved Partnership as and from the ninth day of September instant.

The business as heretofore will be carried on by the said Alexander Cowie, to whom all debts owing to the said business are to be paid, and all debts due in respect thereof will be liquidated.
