TENDERS
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 19th day of September, for Contract No. 1090, Formation, Pitching, and Gravelling of 80 Chains of Road, Tuapeka to Teviot, situate in Block I, Beaumont District. Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Station, Lawrence. Tenders to be endorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1090." The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

NORTH EAST VALLEY ROAD BOARD
TENDERS are invited for the following Works:
No. 1. To clear the timber and form 20 chains of road, more or less, at per chain, on Pine Hill.
No. 2. To widen road to 16 feet in N. E. V.
No. 3. To supply, break, and spread 130 yards, more or less, of 3-inch road metal at Ravensbourne.
No. 4. To form, as per plan and specification, Sawyers' Bay.
Tenders to be numbered outside, and Tenders written on Tender form, and left at North East Valley School-house on or before the 16th day of September, at 2 p.m., having enclosed 5 per cent. on amount of Tender.
The lowest or any not necessarily accepted.
Specifications for No. 1 and 2 at Cattle Market Hotel, North East Valley.
Specifications for No. 3 at Mr. Bacon’s Boot Shop, Octagon, Dunedin.
Specifications for No. 4 at Mr. Menzies, Baker, Sawyers' Bay.

WAIKOUAITI ROAD BOARD
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waikouaiti Road Board to Levy a Special Rate of One Shilling in the Pound at its next meeting on the 30th September next on all properties in each and every subdivision of the District.
The Rate Book will be open for the inspection Ratepayers at the House of the Clerk after 28th August, daily.
Any objections to the Rate or Valuation must be sent in writing to the Clerk on or before the 30th September next, at 12 noon; and a Special Meeting will be held to hear and determine objections, if any, on Saturday, the 30th September, at 4 o'clock p.m., in the Morton School House.
