NOTICE TO MAKE FENCE.

TO MR. B. SHORT, OR OWNER OF SECTIONS
11 AND 12, BLOCK VI., WAIKAKA.

TAKE notice that I desire that the boundary or separating fence between the above-mentioned sections, and section 33, block IX., Waikaka, be erected. The fence shall be a sufficient fence—four sod wall, two ditches, posts, and two wires.

NOTICE TO TEACHERS AND PUPIL-TEACHERS

THE Annual Examination of Pupil-Teachers and candidates for employment as such will be held on the 28th, 29th, and 30th of September next, at Dunedin, Oamaru, Invercargill, Milton, Lawrence, Queenstown, Tapanui, Mount Ida.

Candidates should send their names to me at least seven days before the first day of examination. The Board’s regulations may be obtained on application.

TEACHER WANTED for Side School, Main Gully, Waitahuna.

Salary: Government Subsidy £75, and School Fees, less ten per cent paid to School Committee, with four-roomed house, and ten acres of glebe. Applications to be sent in to the Secretary of School Committee by September 20th.

MR. ROBERT SHORT, Land Office, Dunedin, has been appointed to supply information as to settlement on the land, whether by immediate purchase, deferred payments, or under agricultural leases. Mr. Short will show maps of the land and assist purchasers or selectors in making the necessary applications.


LOST, a Fixed Deposit Receipt on the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, Oamaru. Dated 25th November, 1875, for six months, No. 2-19, for Thirty-five pounds sterling. Anyone returning same to Colonial Bank of New Zealand, Oamaru, will be rewarded.

RUNNING on my Property at Hokanui, for the last eight months, one Light Chestnut Mare, branded CS on off shoulder, being my brand. The mare was my property eighteen months ago, when I sold her to Andrew McLaren, of Tokomairiro, and she has since returned to her former home. If not claimed within thirty days from this date she will be sold to defray expenses.

IMPOUNDED, on the 16th day of August, 1876, by R. Louman, one dark bay or brown Horse, branded on near shoulder, not legible, like JA, and like a brand on off shoulder; also, on the 19th, one red and white Cow, branded like L4 on off rump, by Henry Youngson.

Owner unknown, for trespassing, horse on Club Garden, cow on Town Belt, and in default of being released the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at South Dunedin on Friday, the 15th day of September, 1876, at 12 o’clock noon.
