PROCLAMATION
By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by Section 10 of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1874,” it is provided that if from any cause whatever the persons entitled to vote at any election for any district, or for any subdivision of any district shall fail or neglect to hold an election of members of the District Board at such district on the day appointed by the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint a day for the holding of such election:
Now therefore I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, under and by virtue of the powers and authority vested in me by the said Ordinance, and of every other power and authority, enabling me in this behalf, proclaim and appoint Saturday, the 2nd September, 1876, to be the day for holding the elections of members of the Seaside Road Board for the Brighton subdivision of the Seaside Road District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this fourteenth day of August, 1876.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Goldfields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Hyde, on or before the 13th day of September, 1876.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Hyde.
Given under my hand at Dunedin, this 15th day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

SCHEDULE.
Hugh McAuley, on behalf of the Enterprise Company for 4 acres of land more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated on spur south of third gully, Hyde.
NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Central Board of Health for the Province of Otago has appointed
MR. SAMUEL HANGER, of St. Bathans,
MR. GEORGE PRESTON, ”
and
MR. GEORGE PURTON, ”
to be a Local Board of Health for the District of St. Bathans as hereinafter described: that is to say,—
Commencing at a point on the East Bank of the Dunstan Creek, opposite the outlet of the St. Bathans Sludge Channel, from thence a straight line to the Bridge over Muddy Creek Channel, Blackstone hill road; from there the course of Muddy Creek to Ewing’s Reservoir, Surface Hill; from there a straight line to the junction of Wheeler’s Gully and the Dunstan Creek; from there the course of the Dunstan Creek to the starting point.
And a notice published in the Gazette, of the 26th April, 1876, No. 1018, appointing the aforesaid gentlemen a Local Board of Health for the township of St. Bathans, is hereby withdrawn.
