a point distant ten (10) chains from the West bank of the Clutha River thence by a line parallel with the western bank of the Clutha River but distant therefrom 10 chains to a point due East from South boundary of P. R. Run 369 (Sec. 33 Block V Teviot District) thence in a line due West along the south boundary of said P. R. to a point due South from Trig. Station M aforesaid thence in a line due South fifty (50) chains thence in a line due West to the western boundary of Run 369 being the Watershed of the Umbrella Mountains thence in a Northerly direction by the said Watershed to the starting point.
- All that Parcel of Land in the Province of Otago Colony of New Zealand containing by estimation 23,000 acres more or less situate in the North-eastern Pastoral District being part of Run numbered 247 on the map of the said District Bounded as follows:—Commencing at a point known as Trigonometrical Station E Upper Tairei side District and proceeding in a straight line due west one hundred and thirty-five (135) chains to the dividing ridge thence by a straight line along the said dividing ridge bearing about North by East 410 chains thence North-east by East 250 chains thence South-east by East 415 chains to the Taieri River; thence by the Taieri River to a point due East of the aforesaid Trigonometrical Station E, and thence by a straight line due West to Trigonometrical Station E the starting point.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Whereas it is desirable of obtaining a License to depasture stock upon the land described in the Schedule hereunder written, upon the terms and conditions prescribed by the Depasturing Regulations made on the second day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six, and it is expedient to grant a Depasturing License under the said Regulations to the said Superintendent.
The said land is therefore hereby licensed to depasture stock upon the said land for the term of years from the day of 1876, subject to the payment of the rent or assessment, payable under and to the other provisions of the regulations under which this license is issued.
Dated this day of 1876.

I accept the above license and agree to pay the rent or assessment, therein mentioned to the Receiver of Land Revenue at Dunedin annually in advance on the first day of October in each and every year during the continuance of the said License and in all other respects to observe and perform the conditions on which the said License is issued and the said Regulations of the day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six.

PROCLAMATION
Declaring certain Crown Lands within the Otago Gold Field open for sale.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in Council.
WHEREAS Thomas Dick, Esquire, then Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to and vested in him in that behalf did, by proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, bearing date the twenty-ninth day of January one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, constitute and appoint all the territory therein described (including amongst other lands the lands described in the Schedule hereto), to be a Gold Field, under the provisions of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” to be called the “Otago Gold Field”:
And whereas by Clause XLIX of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” it is provided that if a Depasturing Lease or License shall not, at the date of the passing of the said Act, have been granted, or shall have been, or shall be cancelled, over any Crown Lands within a Gold Field, it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time by Proclamation to declare such lands, or any part thereof, open for sale or selection, in sections of such size and form as he may determine, and any lands so proclaimed may thereafter be sold at a like price, and subject to the like terms and conditions, or as near thereto as may be, as Crown Lands of the same class not within a Gold Field; and it shall not be necessary to withdraw lands from the operation of the said Act for the purposes aforesaid: And whereas the lease hitherto existing over the Crown Lands described in the schedule hereto has been duly cancelled under the provisions of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866”:
And whereas the Executive Government of the Province of Otago have determined to open up for sale the said Crown Lands described in the said schedule hereto, in sections of the size and form in which the same respectively have been laid off and are shown on the maps of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Otago relative thereto:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the said province in this behalf by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand in Council, under the authority of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and the “Gold Fields Act Amendment Act, 1867,” and of any and every other power enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare and proclaim that the lands comprised within the area hereinafter described shall on and after the date hereof be open for sale in sections of the size and form in which such lands respectively have been laid off, and are shown on the maps in the office of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Otago relative thereto (that is to say)—
All that area in the Province of Otago, Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement two hundred (200) acres more or less, being part of Run numbered 308 on the map of the south-eastern Pastoral District of the said Province, and now Section numbered 4 on the map of the Upper Taieri Side District: Bounded towards the north-east and north-west by a road line four thousand one hundred and seven and a-half (4107½) links; towards the east by Crown lands four thousand and sixty (4460) links; towards the south by Crown lands three thousand seven hundred and eighty-six (3786) links; towards the south-west by Crown lands three thousand five hundred and seventy-six and a-half (3576½) links; towards the north-west by Section numbered 3 two thousand six hundred and eighty-two (3682) links.
