MUNICIPALITY OF GREEN ISLAND.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Assessment for the financial year 1875-76 has been made; that the said assessment was allowed by the Town Council on the 14th day of March, 1876, subject to a reduction of 10 per centum on the gross valuation, and is now deposited in my office, and may be daily inspected between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

And notice is further given that any appeals against the said assessment may be lodged at my office within ten days after the date hereof, and a former notice of the said assessment published on the 29th day of March, 1876, is hereby withdrawn.

SUPREME COURT CIRCUIT SITTING.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Circuit Court Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of criminal and civil business will be holden in the Court House, at Lawrence, on Tuesday, the twenty-first day of March next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances or otherwise to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

NOTICE of Alteration in the amount of Penalty to be imposed as per clause 13 in the regulations for the management of Stock pasturage on Hundred for the year, 1876, from £5 to £1.

  1. “Any cattle found depasturing on any Hundred “not being the property of or in the custody of a “license holder, or depasturing on any Hundred in “contravention of these regulations, may be impounded, and the owner or custodian of such “cattle shall forfeit and pay for every such offence “the sum of £1, to be recovered in a summary “way.”

One light bay Horse, branded P near neck,
One brown Horse, branded IR near shoulder,
One bay Mare, branded K near shoulder,
One black Filly, light draught, branded like EM near shoulder,

for trespassing on Beaumont Run, for which two shillings trespass and ten shillings driving expenses each is claimed, and in default of being released the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Lawrence, on the 21st day of April, 1876, at 12 o’clock noon.

One white Bullock, branded HC near rump,
One red Steer, branded like T near rump, back half near ear.

Owners unknown; for trespassing on Crown Lands, for which fifteen shillings per head mustering and driving expenses are claimed, and in default of being released the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hayes Lake, on Friday, the 21st day of April, 1876, at twelve o’clock noon.

One bay Mare, branded like GOA on near shoulder.

Owner unknown; for trespassing on an English grass paddock at Otepopo, for which ten shillings is claimed, and in default of being released the above Mare will be sold at the public pound at Hampden, on Friday, the 21st day of April, 1876, at twelve o’clock noon.

STRAVED into my paddock, a strawberry Cow, branded like VC on rump. Also red-and-white Cow, no visible brands. Also brown Bullock, branded like ⑤ on rump, and both ears slit.

If the above are not claimed within one month from the date of this notice they will be sold to defray expenses.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned as Millers and Produce Merchants, carrying on business in Dunedin and Oamaru under the style or firm of Anderson and Mowat, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent, and that the business will be carried on as hitherto by James Anderson, under the style or firm of Anderson and Co.

Andrew Mowat will pay all liabilities due by, and receive all debts due to, the late firm in Oamaru, James Anderson paying all liabilities due by, and receive all debts due to, the late firm in Dunedin.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
