PROCLAMATION
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council aforesaid, do hereby by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by "The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," and of every or any power in this behalf enabling me, proclaim, declare, and set apart all those sections numbered respectively 13, 14, 17, 20, and 21, Block III, Chatton District; and Sections 1, 2, 6, 10, 13, and 16, Block IV, Chatton District, will be open on the 26th day of April, 1876, for application for license and lease on deferred payment, as provided in the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-first day of March, 1876.

SCHEDULE
William Grayson, on behalf of the Try Again Company, for 10 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at the Spur, on the west side of Clarke’s Gully.
LEASE OF TOLLS
THURSDAY, 30TH MARCH, 1876.
The Leases of the Balclutha and Waikouaiti Toll Gates for the year commencing 1st April, 1876, and ending on the 31st March, 1877, will be sold by Public Auction by Mr. James Milner, at the Provincial Government Buildings, on the 30th day of March next at noon.
The following are the different gates, and the amounts realised by the Government at the sale on March 2nd last, for the year ending 31st March, 1876:
- Balclutha ...... £610
- Waikouaiti ...... £75
Terms and conditions of sale can be seen at the Office of the Provincial Secretary on and after the 10th instant.
DEFERRED PAYMENTS
FRIDAY, 31ST MARCH, 1876.
1,000 ACRES OF LAND FOR SALE ON DEFERRED PAYMENTS, IN THE HUNDREDS OF SOUTH AND NORTH GLENKENICH.
Notice is hereby given that the undermentioned sections will be open for application on deferred payments on Friday, the 31st day of March, 1876. Application must be made by the applicant in person, at any Land Office in the Province, and a deposit of 1s. 6d. per acre paid at the time of making the application, being the first half-year’s occupation fee. The purchase money is payable at the rate of 3s. per acre per annum for ten years.
Plans to be seen, and lithographs obtained, at the Land Offices at Dunedin and at Invercargill, on and after the 10th of March.
Sections 8 and 10, Block II., and Sections 5, 9, and 10, Block VIII., Chatton Survey District.
COAST DISTRICT
(Near Kaitangata).
FRIDAY, 31ST MARCH, 1876.
Notice is hereby given that Sections 1 to 8, Block V., Coast District, containing about 50 acres each, will be offered for sale by public auction by Mr. R. B. Martin, as land of special value, under clause 85, “Otago Waste Land Act, 1872,” on Friday, 31st March, 1876, at noon, at Barr’s Hall, Balclutha, at the upset price of £3 per acre, with valuation for improvement to the extent of £3,750 added to purchase money, permission being granted to present occupants to remove crops. Possession will not be given until 1st July, 1876.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION
In conformity to the 29th section of the "Goldfields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Goldfields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Naseby on or before the 26th day of April, 1876.
