18.—Shotover Survey District.

All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 1a. 2r. 25p. more or less being a road line situate in block II. Shotover Survey District bounded towards the north-east by parts of sections numbered 62 34 35 36 and 30 three thousand three hundred and twenty-five (3325) links more or less and towards the south-west by other parts of said sections numbered 62 34 35 36 and 30 three thousand three hundred and fifty (3350) links more or less.

All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 2a. 3r. 39p. more or less, being a road line situate in block II Shotover District bounded towards the north-east by parts of sections numbered 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 and 19 five thousand nine hundred and eighty-seven (5987) links more or less and towards the south-west by other parts of said sections numbered 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 and 19 five thousand nine hundred and eighty-seven (5987) links more or less.

DEPASTURING REGULATIONS.
Otago Gold Fields—Mount Benger District.

The Mayor and Councillors of the Municipal Corporation of Roxburgh for the time being, and Albert Birch, William Westcott, Thomas Philip Michell, and Richard Bennetts, or such other persons as the Superintendent may from time to time appoint, shall be, and are hereby appointed, the Board of Wardens for the said Mount Benger District, as the same is described in Gazette, No. 595, of the 17th of February, 1869, and shall have all the powers conferred on Board of Wardens by the Depasturing Regulations of the 23rd day of June and the 6th day of October, 1868, respectively.

The Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Roxburgh shall be the Chairman of the Board of Wardens, and shall have a casting vote in case of equality.

The Inspector of Sheep and the Receiver of Revenue at Clyde for the time being shall be and are hereby appointed to carry out the said Depasturing regulations in the said Mount Benger District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, the 10th day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six. Present—His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent, Donald Reid and James Green, Esquires.
WHEREAS by Proclamation bearing date the 23rd of June, 1868, made by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and published in the Otago Provincial Gazette, No. 553, under the hand of the said Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and under the public seal of the said Province, certain regulations were made for the depasturing of stock upon the Waste Lands of the Crown within the Otago Gold Field: And whereas, by Proclamation bearing date the 6th day of October, 1868, made by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago as aforesaid, and published in the Otago Provincial Gazette, No. 572 as aforesaid, the regulations of the 23rd day of June, 1868, were altered and amended: And whereas it is expedient to further amend the said regulations, so far as they relate to the Mount Benger District as described in the Otago Provincial Gazette, No. 595, of the 17th February, 1869.
Now, therefore, his Honor, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province doth, by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the Province of Otago in that behalf, hereby revoke the regulations numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the said regulations so made and published on the 23rd day of June, 1868, and regulation numbered 23 of the said regulations so made and published on the 6th day of October, 1868, so far only as the same apply to the said Mount Benger District, and doth make the regulations following in lieu thereof as regards the said Mount Benger District (that is to say) :
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the “Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869,” for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands specified in the next Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Arrow, on or before the 3rd day of April, 1876.
Copy of application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Arrow.
