And that the said loan be borrowed on debentures for sums of Fifty Pounds and that the principal due upon such debentures shall be payable at the Council Chambers Queenstown aforesaid or at the Bank of New Zealand Dunedin in the Province of Otago at the option of the holder thereof and shall be payable at the expiration of five years from the issue thereof and the interest due upon the said debentures shall be payable half-yearly on the first days of January and July in every year at the Council Chambers Queenstown or at the Bank of New Zealand Dunedin aforesaid at the option of the holder thereof and that interest coupons be annexed to the said debentures and that the said loan shall be secured upon a special rate to be made under the provisions of the said Acts of One Shilling in the Pound of the Assessment of the Rateable Property subject to the Special Rate.

NOTICE TO DISTRICT ROAD BOARDS.
NOTICE is hereby given that the subsidy to be paid by the Provincial Government for the year ending 30th June, 1876, on general rates collected by District Road Boards, will be at the rate of 15s. in the pound, and that in districts in which general rates are so subsidised no subsidy on special rates will be given. In districts where no general rates are levied a 10s. subsidy will be given on special rates.

WAIPORI ROAD DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following by-laws were passed by the Waipori Road Board, on the 8th day of January, 1876, viz.:-
"It shall be lawful for the Waipori Road Board to appoint a person to impound all cattle found trespassing on any roads within the Waipori Road district. Such cattle shall be received into and kept in the public pound until released or sold under the Otago Impounding Ordinance 1872."
Notice is hereby further given that the Waipori Road Board has appointed Mr. PETER PECUS, Berwick, Lake Waipori, to be Ranger for the said Board.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above Board intend to form a road line on part of Section 24, Irregular Block, Taieri, being Church Reserve; said road to be one hundred (100) links wide, and under the authority and powers vested in the Board, as per "Highway Boards Empowering Act," together with the "Lands Consolidation Act."
The plan of the above road can be seen by any person interested for 40 days from this date at the Schoolhouse, Mosgiel, between the hours of 10 a.m. till 4 p.m., and any persons affected by the above are required to state their objections, in writing, and

IN THE MATTER OF THE QUEENSTOWN WATERWORKS ACT, 1875.
NOTICE is hereby given that a Meeting of the Town Council of Queenstown will be held in the Council Chambers Ballarat-street Queenstown on Friday the tenth day of March next at the hour of eight o’clock in the evening for the purpose of considering a proposal to borrow and take up at interest a certain sum of money pursuant to the authority and under the provisions of the above-named Act and the amount of such proposed loan the rate of interest to be paid in respect of such loan the purposes to which it is intended to be applied the manner times and places at which the principal and interest due upon the several debentures shall be payable and the amount of the special rate which it is proposed shall be made for securing the loan are set forth and expressed in the proposed resolution hereinafter contained. And notice is hereby further given that at such meeting of the Town Council the following resolution for borrowing money as aforesaid will be submitted to and considered by the Council that is to say—Resolved that this Council do forthwith or as soon as practicable under the provisions of "The Queenstown Waterworks Act 1875" "The Municipal Corporations Waterworks Act 1872" and such of the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act 1867" as extend and apply to the Town of Queenstown borrow and take up at interest on the credit of a special rate to be made under the said Acts or either of them the sum of Two Thousand Pounds and that the rate of interest which shall be paid in respect of the said loan shall be eight pounds per centum per annum and that the proceeds of the said loan shall be applied to the purposes of defraying the costs charges and expenses of purchasing water rights for the purpose of supplying the said Town of Queenstown with water and for defraying the costs charges and expenses of procuring plant and machinery for waterworks and for defraying all other costs charges and expenses in or about or incidental to the construction and completion of the said waterworks
