PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by Section 2 of “The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinances Amendment Ordinances, 1866,” it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, from time to time to alter in any way he may think fit the boundaries of any Municipality at any time proclaimed under the provisions of “The Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865.” And whereas the Municipality of St. Kilda was proclaimed under the provisions of the last-mentioned Ordinance, and it is desirable to alter the boundaries of the said Municipality. Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of Otago, acting with the consent and advice of my Executive Council, do hereby, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said Ordinance, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Municipality of St. Kilda are hereby altered, and shall be as follows:—

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago in the Colony of New Zealand containing by measurement Five hundred and seven (507) acres more or less, comprising the private Townships of Musselburgh and St. Kilda, together with Forbury Park, being applications numbered respectively Twelve (12), Seventy-five (75), and One hundred and eighteen (118), Block Twelve (XII) Dunedin and East Taieri District, and Sections numbered respectively Fifty-one (51), Fifty-two (52), Fifty-three (53), Fifty-four (54), Fifty-five (55), Fifty-six (56), Fifty-seven (57), Fifty-eight (58), Fifty-nine (59), Sixty (60), Sixty-one (61), Sixty-two (62), Sixty-three (63), Sixty-four (64), Sixty-five (65), Sixty-six (66), Sixty-seven (67), Sixty-eight (68), Sixty-nine (69), Seventy-nine (79), Eighty (80), Eighty-one (81), Eighty-two (82) Eighty-three (83), Eighty-four (84), Eighty-five (85), and parts of Sections numbered respectively Fifty (50), and Seventy (70), Block Seven (VII) Town District, together with Section numbered Six (6), and part of Section numbered Seven (7) Block Seven (VII) Otago Peninsula District, and that portion of the Sand Hills lying between the aforesaid lands and high water mark of the ocean, bounded by a line commencing at the northern angle of the said section numbered 69, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the Anderson’s Bay Road one thousand five hundred and eighty (1580) links; thence along the north-eastern boundary of the said section numbered 70, six hundred and sixty (660) links; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western boundaries of the said sections numbered respectively 80 and 79, nine hundred and sixty-nine (969) links; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of the said section numbered 79 and that line extended to high water mark of the ocean, five thousand and ninety-five (5,095) links, thence in a south-westerly direction along high-water mark of the ocean to the Forbury Road, twelve thousand three hundred and forty (12,340) links; thence in a north-west and northerly direction along the Forbury Road to the centre of Bay View or District Road, three thousand three hundred and forty-six (3,346) links; thence in a north-easterly direction along the centre of Bay View or District Road to the Anderson’s Bay Road, nine thousand eight hundred and fifty (9,850) links; thence in a south-easterly direction thirty (30) links to the starting point; be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less.

Musselburgh Ward—Comprises all that portion of the said Municipality situate to the north-east of a line forming the north-eastern boundary of the said section, numbered 64, and of application numbered 118, and the continuation of the same line to the ocean.

Park Ward—Comprises all the remaining portion of the said Municipality.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Seal of the Province of Otago, this 26th day of January, 1876.
