SOUTHERN TRUNK TO KAITANGATA.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 11th January, 1876, for Contract No. 1091.—Metalling 50 ½ chains road in Block 14, North Molyneux district.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be indorsed “Tender for Contract No. 1091.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


TWO POUNDS REWARD.

STRAYED from Dunedin, one light chestnut pony mare, about 13 hands high, with blaze on face, no visible brand. Last seen at Ida Valley, on the Rock and Pillar road, on 15th November, 1875. Anyone giving such information as will lead to her recovery, or delivery at the Police Station, Clyde, or to the undersigned, will receive the above reward.

1 Red and White Cow, with Bull Calf, branded TF, off rump.
1 Strawberry Cow, with Heifer Calf, branded TF, off rump.
1 Red and White Heifer, no visible brand, short tail, back half bit each ear.
1 Red Steer, branded CB near ribs.
1 Working Bullock, blotch brand off rump, colour red.

Owners unknown. For trespassing on grass paddocks. Damages claimed, 5s per head, and in default of being released, the above Cattle will be sold on Thursday, the 21st day of January, 1876, at Edendale Pound, Edendale.

PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that, at a Special Meeting of the above-named Board, held on Saturday, 4th December, it was resolved to borrow the sum of £500 for the North-east Harbour Subdivision, for the purpose of paying liabilities and carrying on future works.

It was also resolved to borrow £350 for the Tomahawk Subdivision for the same purpose.

Ratepayers objecting to the raising of these loans must send in written objections to the Clerk before 12 o’clock on Saturday, 8th January, 1876, when the Board will hold a Special Meeting to consider the same.

NOTICE

NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Government have sanctioned the cancellation of the undermentioned portion of the Gold Mining Lease issued in favor of the Morning Star Gold Mining Company, and the land is now open for occupation by holders of Miners’ Rights:—

All that area, containing by admeasurement four (4) acres one (1) rood and seven (7) poles, more or less, being part of Section 21, Block XIX, on the map of the Shotover District; bounded towards the north-east by Crown lands one thousand three hundred and sixty-one (1,361) links; towards the south-east by Crown lands six hundred and eleven (611) links; towards the south-west by Crown lands one thousand two hundred and ninety-three (1,293) links; towards the north-west by other part of said Section three hundred and sixty (360) links.
