WARRANT
Appointing Mr John Lancelot Shadwell Keen, to act as Town Clerk at First Elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the Incorporated Town of Winton.
WHEREAS the Town of Winton has been incorporated under the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865:" And whereas by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is, amongst other things, enacted, that where no special provision is made for the conduct of the first election under the said Ordinance, it should be lawful for the Superintendent, by warrant under his hand, to appoint some person to perform any of the acts in the said Ordinance required to be done by the Town Clerk, before such officer can be appointed under the provisions of the said Ordinance :
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby appoint
Mr John Lancelot Shadwell Keen
to perform at the first elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the said incorporated town, under the said Ordinance, all acts in and by the said Ordinance required to be done by the Town Clerk of the Incorporated Town of Winton, at such first elections, under the provisions of the said Ordinance.

WHEREAS the Town of Winton has been incorporated under the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865:" And whereas by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is, amongst other things, provided, that where no special provision is made for the conduct of the first elections under the said Ordinance, it should be lawful for the Superintendent, by warrant under his hand, to appoint such and so many persons as may be necessary to perform any of the acts in the said Ordinance required to be done by the Mayor, Councillors, and Town Clerk, before such officers can be elected under the provisions of the said Ordinance: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby appoint the persons hereinafter mentioned to be the persons before whom shall be held (within the respective wards of the Incorporated Town of Winton set opposite their names) the polling at the elections under the said Ordinance of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the said incorporated town, and to do within the said respective wards set opposite their names, at such first elections, all such acts as by the said Ordinance are required to be done by a Councillor or other person appointed to preside at polling at elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors.

NOTICE.
INCORPORATED TOWN OF WINTON.
WHEREAS by the 28th section of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," it is provided that no person elected to be Mayor, Councillor, or Auditor under the said Ordinance shall be capable of acting as such until he shall first, in the presence of any two Councillors, have made and subscribed the declaration therein set forth: Provided that at the first elections under the said Ordinance, whether for the City of Dunedin or for any incorporated town or place, such declaration shall be made and subscribed before a person to be appointed for that purpose by the Superintendent of Otago:
And whereas it is necessary that a person should be appointed before whom such declaration shall be made and subscribed by the persons elected as Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors respectively, for the Incorporated Town of Winton at the first elections for the said town under the said Ordinance:
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, in pursuance of the power in this behalf vested in me by the said Ordinance, appoint
Mr Dugald Cameron, of Winton,
as and to be the person before whom the persons elected as Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors respectively, at the first elections under the said Ordinance for the said Incorporated Town of Winton, shall make and subscribe the declaration specified in the said twenty-eighth section of the said Ordinance.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago aforesaid, at Dunedin, this 18th day of December, 1875.

At the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, this first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
PresentβHis Honor the Superintendent, Donald Reid, and James Green, Esquires, Members of the Executive Council.
WHEREAS by section 2 of the "Southland Railways Ordinance, 1875," it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of Otago to declare that the Bye-laws and regulations in force for regulating the travelling upon, and the using of the Railway between the City of Dunedin and Port Chalmers, shall be in force for the railways authorized to be constructed by the "Bluff and Invercargill Railway Ordinance, 1863," and the "Oreti Railway Ordinance, 1863": Now therefore His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by the advice and consent of his Executive Council, and under by virtue of the power and authority vested in him by the said Ordinance, and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby make and declare the Bye-laws, Rules, and Regulations made by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the approval of the Governor of New Zealand, acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, for regulating the travelling upon, and using of the railway between Dunedin and Port Chalmers, and dated the first day of May, 1873, to be Bye-laws, Rules, and Regulations, for regulating the travelling upon, and using of the Bluff Harbour and Invercargill Railway, and the Oreti Railway, as follow:β
Bye-Laws, Rules, and Regulations made by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, for regulating the travelling upon and using of the railway between the City of Dunedin and Port Chalmers, in the said Province.
