PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Cromwell, on or before the 29th day of October, 1875.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office at Cromwell.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 8th day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

SCHEDULE.

Charles Albert Daniels on behalf of the Coromandel Quartz Mining Company, for 16 acres of land more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situate on site of the old Alta.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 9th November, 1875, for

Contract No. 1063.—Construction of Railway, from Invercargill through Seaward Bush.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the District Engineer's Office, Invercargill, after the 16th instant.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tenders for Contract No. 1063."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 26th October, 1875, for—

Contract No. 1062.—Supply and delivery of 1870 cubic yards on road "Northern Trunk to Moeraki Port."

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Moeraki.

Tenders to be indorsed, "Tender for Contract No. 1062."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 19th October, for

Contract No. 1060.—Construction of two floating stages for Kaitangata punt.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1060."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


IT is hereby notified, that Mr BENJAMIN PEDDIE BAYLY has been appointed Inspector of Cattle for Otago, vice WILLIAM LOGIE, who has left the Colony; and Mr JAMES MURISON to be Inspector of Cattle for the Oamaru District, vice B. P. BAYLY, promoted.
