and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in
this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have
made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described re-
serves for Educational Buildings, (that is to
say)—

All that area of land, being section 217, Forest Hill
Hundred, bounded towards the north by a line in con-
tinuation westward of north boundary of section 64,
Forest Hill Hundred, towards the east by said section 64,
towards the south by a public road, and towards the west
by a line at right angles to the south boundary.

Sections 13 and 14 block IX Winton.

Dated at Dunedin this 16th day of September, 1875.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold
Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made
under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendment
Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases
for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it
is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for
gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicants
specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be
valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged
with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 15th day
of October, 1875.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may
be seen at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 28th day
of September one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-five.

SCHEDULE.

Carl Nelson, for 6 acres of land, more or less, as the
same may be found after survey to be within the pegs,
and trenches of the applicants, situated at Arthur's
Point, along Shotover river, adjoining Deep Creek, and
Cooper's Agricultural Lease.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secre-
tary for Works, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday,
5th October, 1875, for—

1st—Contract No. 1,056, Construction and Metalling of
portion of Road at Anderson's Bay or Road, Dune-
din to Portobello.

2nd—Contract No. 1,059, Construction of portion of
Road, Block 7, Portobello District, on Road, An-
derson's Bay to Heads.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer,
Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed, "Tender for Contract No.
1,056 or 1,059, as the case may be."

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secre-
tary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 12th Oc-
tober, for—

Contract No. 1,058, construction of Timber Bridge over
the Pomahaka River, on the Waikaka road.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of
tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer,
Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Tapanui.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No.
1,068."

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secre-
tary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 12th October,
1875, for—

Contract No. 1,057, forming, pitching, and metalling
56 chains of road, block 111, Waipahi, near Nel-
son's, on road Clinton to Waipahi.

Plans and specification may be seen, and forms of tender

obtained, at the Provincial Engineer's Office, Dunedin,
and at the Police Station, Balclutha.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No.
1,057."

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Government Office,
Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 1st October, from
parties willing to supply one 9-inch centre screw cutting
self-acting turning lathe, and one boiler-maker's vertical.

Waiao Run 462.—1st October 1875.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease for ten
years of Run No. 462, containing 1000 acres,
open land, and 2000 acres of scrub and bog—
will be offered for sale by public auction at the Survey
Office, Invercargill, on the 1st day of October, next,
at noon, in terms of the "Otago Waste Lands Act,
1872." Rental to be an assessment of 3s 6d for
every head of great cattle, or 7d for every head of
small cattle, but the minimum stock on which assess-
ment is chargeable shall not be less than 200 sheep.
The lease to commence on the 1st day of October,
1875. The deposit of one-tenth of the purchase
money shall be payable at the fall of the hammer,
the balance within a month from date of sale.

ROXBURGH TOWNSHIP.

FRIDAY, 1ST OCTOBER, 1875.

NOTICE is hereby given that Sections 1 and 2, Block
XXII, Roxburgh, will be offered for Sale by
Public Auction, at the Survey Office, Clyde, on Friday,
the 1st October, 1875, at noon, at the upset price of £5
per section, with valuations for improvements to the ex-
tent of £150 on each.

RUN 461.—1ST OCTOBER, 1875.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Lease for ten years
of Run 461, containing 2000 acres, will be offered
for Sale by Public Auction, at the Survey office, Clyde,
on the 1st day of October next, at noon, in terms of the
"Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872." Rental to be an
assessment of 3s. 6d. for every head of great cattle, or
7d. for every head of small cattle, but the minimum
stock on which assessment is chargeable shall not be less
than 300 sheep. The Lease to commence on the 1st day
of October, 1875. The deposit of one-tenth of the
purchase money shall be payable at the fall of the
hammer, the balance within a month from date of sale

sale by public auction at the Survey Office, Clyde, on
Friday, the 1st October next, at the upset price of £2 per
acre, with survey fees £6 3s., and valuation for improve-
