emptive rights of 640 acres, on the west by a meridional line produced through a point forty chains due east of Trig L on Mount Fortune, and Run No. 464, situated in the Otepopo Survey District, bounded on the north by the north branch of the Otepopo River, on the east by the purchased land in block VIII, Otepopo, on the south by the middle branch of Otepopo River, and on the west by a meridional line produced through a point forty chains due east of Trig L, on Mount Fortune, containing respectively 6,000 acres and 4,200 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 28th day of September next at noon, in terms of the Otago Waste Lands Act 1872, at the upset price of one penny per acre. The bidder of the highest annual rental in addition to the assessment payable under the 138th clause of the said Act, shall be the purchaser. Assessment of three shillings and sixpence for every head of great cattle, or seven-pence for every head of small cattle, depastured on the Runs, will be charged, but the minimum stock on which assessment will be charged, shall be not less than 2,400 sheep on Run 11, and 1,680 sheep on Run 464, respectively.

Leases to commence on the 1st day of January, 1876 an I expire on the 5th day of September, 1882, or to terminate on 12 months' notice from the Commissioner of Crown Lands to the lessee to that effect, without liability on the part of the Government or Waste Land Board for compensation for improvements. No previous lessee on purchasing the lease to be entitled to exercise a pre-emptive right to purchase land on Run. Improvements enhancing the value of the Run, made by lessee, to be paid by the incoming tenant, before obtaining possession. A deposit of one tenth of the purchase money and rent from 1st January 1876, to 1st October 1876, shall be payable on fall of the hammer, and the balance of both within a month.

Waiao Run 462.—1st October 1875.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease for ten years of Run No. 462, containing 1000 acres, open land, and 2000 acres of scrub and bog—will be offered for sale by public auction at the Survey Office, Invercargill, on the 1st day of October next, at noon, in terms of the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872." Rental to be an assessment of 3s 6d for every head of great cattle, or 7d for every head of small cattle, but the minimum stock on which assessment is chargeable shall not be less than 200 sheep.

The lease to commence on the 1st day of October, 1875. The deposit of one-tenth of the purchase money shall be payable at the fall of the hammer, the balance within a month from date of sale.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Lease for ten years of Run 461, containing 2000 acres, will be offered for Sale by Public Auction, at the Survey Office, Clyde, on the 1st day of October next, at noon, in terms of the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872." Rental to be an assessment of 3s. 6d. for every head of great cattle, or 7d. for every head of small cattle, but the minimum stock on which assessment is chargeable shall not be less than 300 sheep. NOTICE is hereby given, that the following sections in Greenvale, Highlay, and Dart Districts, will be open for application on Deferred Payments, on Tuesday, the 5th day of October, 1875. Applications must be made by the applicants in person, at any Land Office in the Province, and a deposit of 1s 3d per acre paid at the time of making the application, being the first half-year's occupation fee. The purchase money is payable at the rate of 2s 6d per acre per annum for ten years.
