OTAGO

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by section 7 of the "Oamaru Harbour Ordinance, 1871," "Amendment Ordinance, 1874," it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Provincial Council, upon the recommendation of the Provincial Council to alter the boundaries and to increase or diminish the area of any road district, and whereas the Provincial Council have recommended that the boundaries of the Makarewa Road District be altered,

Now therefore, I, George Turnbull, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said Orinance, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Makarewa Road District are hereby altered and shall be as follows, (that is to say)

All that area bounded by a line proceeding from a point on the Ocean Beach due east to the Oreti River at the junction of the Makarewa, thence by the Oreti River to the boundary of the Oreti Electoral District, thence in an easterly direction along the said boundary to a point due north from the western boundary of Block I. Lindhurst Survey District, thence due south to a line being the north-west boundary of the Mabel subdivision of the Lindhurst Road District to the Makarewa River, thence south-westerly along the said river to the eastern boundary of Block

XIII. Invercargill Survey District, thence due south to the Waiopai River, thence westerly along the said Waiopai River and the western shore of the New River Estuary to the Ocean, thence north-westerly along the Ocean Beach to the starting point.

Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago at Dunedin this 13th day of September, 1875

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by section 7 of the "Oamaru Harbour Board Ordinance 1874," it is provided that it shall be the duty of the Superintendent to appoint by Proclamation a fit and proper person to be a member of the "Oamaru Harbour Board" in the room of any person resigning.

Now therefore, I, George Turnbull, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said Ordinance and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have appointed John Stubbs Wait, of Oamaru, Esquire, to be a member of the "Oamaru Harbour Board" in place of George Sumpter, Esquire, who has been elected Mayor of Oamaru.
